This blog is primarily about growing in grace, in all of life:
2Pet. 3.18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. (ESV)
Some other reasons for this blog can be found here.
More importantly, outside of being a junior-varsity blogger, I play these roles:
- broken and dependent follower of Jesus Christ
- husband to Susan
- father to Colton (14), Isabella (12), Ezra (5), and Nehemiah (3)
- and pastor for preaching and vision to the flock at Calvary Community Church
I love to read, write, run, play tennis when I can, bike, hang out with good friends eating good food, spend time with my family, vacation in Duluth, and watch the occasional movie.

Pastor Matthew–
I missed church last Sunday because I was at Camp Lebonon’s Dads & Lads Retreat with my son and his two boys. We had a great time and when I came home Janny told me about the Sunday sermon–it was dynamic and without notes! So I pulled up the video and by golly she was right. What surprised me the most was that she watched the sermon from beginning end with me. Since we don’t have TV and she admits to being a computer illiterate with no patience to look at a computer screen more than 5 minutes at a time, I was amazed.
I must say the video production was of excellent quality and will be an effective outreach tool. It was almost as good as sitting in the front pew, but I’ll be there next Sunday.
Blessings to you and your family, Bob & Janny
