Remember this the next time you just want to Twitter, FaceBook, Email, Skype, Text, LiveChat, write, or call a friend or family member:

Though I have much to write to you, I would rather not use paper and ink. Instead I hope to come to you and talk face to face, so that our joy may be complete.  (2 John 1:12)

  1. This reminded me of something we read recently in the Bible reading program: 1 Thess. 3:10:

“We pray most earnestly night and day that we may see you face to face and supply what is lacking in your faith.”

So when we see each other we can supply something that we can’t by using messengers or letters. (In this letter, that would be Timothy’s report in verse 6 ff.)
