“…if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another…” (1 John 1:7a, ESV)
“…giving thanks always and for everything, to God the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:20, ESV)
This morning I give thanks for the fellowship of dear friends so richly provided by a gracious Father.
Last night, our whole family went over to Carl and Angel Larsen’s home. We enjoyed screamin’ down the zip-line, fillin’ our bellies with grilled burgers and nummy salad, and fillin’ their home with much laughter and screams of delight as we swapped stories in fellowship around the table – 5 adults (Becky, the babysitter, joined us for dinner), 10 kids.
It was glorious.
And then, the four of us headed out to Ciatti’s for dessert and some kid-free time. We told stories of God’s goodness in our lives. Shared more laughter. Took down Drunken Chocolate Cake and Bannana Cobbler. We talked about our church with our server Melissa. We prayed together.
So this morning, I give thanks to God our Father. I do it in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, because it was he who brought all of us out of darkness and into glorious light, to fellowship in a way impossible without his grace.
“Oh taste and see that the Lord is good! His steadfast love endures forever.”
