Transitions

Our church voted yesterday (143-0) to pass the family ministry baton from Twila Pulford, serving now for 32 years, to Jon Oettel, a member of Calvary since his youth. She finishes this part of her race, Lord willing, at the end of September. He begins his, Lord willing, on September 3.

I am deeply grateful to the Lord for his mercy in this, and am eager to see what he has in store for us as Jon – with Josh Johnson, our student director – envisions the next season of ministering to parents and their kids.

The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. (Psalm 16.6, ESV)

  1. So excited! It will certainly be different without Twila, but I know Jon will be a great fit for the position. Apparently EVERYone else thought so too… brought tears to my eyes when Billy said it was a unanimous vote. 🙂 I don’t think that has ever happened on any vote I’ve ever been a part of since becoming a member at Calvary! History in the making. 🙂
